VisIt Carrick on Suir Farmers Market at the Heritage Centre grounds and wander around the Heritage Centre where the memorabilia of Carrick on Suir is displayed or visit the many art exhibitions throughout the town.

BREWERY LANE THEATRE

1:00 p.m. - Lunch time theatre - Brewery Lane will present "Shadow of the Glen" by John Millington Synge

8.00 P.M. -  River - Town Roots - A Writer's view of the Clancy hometown by Michael Coady.

Author and Poet, Michael Coady gives an informal talk on the life and times of his native town and that of the Clancy Brothers.  Including some excerpts from his own work, the writer will speak about place and people, touching on story, song and schooling, religion and emigration, good times and bad, class and community, experience and memory.

Michael Coady has won a number of literary awards in Ireland and America and is elected member of Aosdana, the national affiliation of distinguished  artists under the aegis of the Arts Council of Ireland. His books include All Souls and One Another, each incorporating poetry, prose and photographs. (Gallery Press)

 

STRAND THEATRE

8.00 p.m. - TALENT COMPETITION FINAL

A great night's entertainment featuring the finalists from the 8 local and regional pubs taking part in the Clancy Brothers Music Festival trail will take place in the Strand Theatre.  This Competition is based on folk and traditional music, song, stories and dance and the overall winner will be announced on the night and presented with a cheque and Perpetual Trophy.
